Physical therapy (physiotherapy) is a health care profession, which provides services in circumstances where movements and functions are threatened by aging, injury, disease or environmental factors.

Physiotherapy is concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life, which encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social wellbeing. For this the physical therapist interacts with patients, their families and caregivers using knowledge and skills, which are unique to the physiotherapists.
